David said he'd always wanted to see a simple line drawing of Holmes...sort of a caricature. He remembered the simple line draw-ing of Alfred Hitchcock that was used to introduce his television
show back in the 1960s. David wanted something with as few lines as possible, but which would clearly tell any viewer that this was Holmes.
I'm not sure that I achieved "as few lines as possible" but I think it's clear that this is Holmes. So I transferred my drawing onto a ceramic plate, and using "puff paint" for the caricature, I created the plate below.
